The Toronto Zoo Community Conservation Centre reimagines the Zoo’s front door as a public platform for conservation learning, research, and community connection. As one of the first major projects advancing the Zoo’s long-term vision, the Centre transforms the arrival experience into one that reflects the institution’s evolving role as a leader in conservation, education, and public engagement.
Designed by Zeidler, the project rethinks one of the Toronto Zoo’s most important public spaces. The previous entrance had remained largely unchanged since the Zoo opened in 1974. The new campus creates a welcoming, accessible gateway that improves orientation, enhances the visitor experience, and introduces conservation as the defining theme of arrival.
