Brock University’s Nursing program, nationally recognized for its ability to produce skilled healthcare professionals, has been further strengthened by the addition of a new Nursing Clinical Simulation Lab. The state-of-the-art academic facility joins two pre-existing nursing labs on campus and is poised to support the program’s rapid growth.
Located in the East Academic Building 3, the nursing lab involved transforming under-utilized office space into an innovative learning lab. The lab presents a hands-on model of learning, in which mock-up patient rooms simulate an active hospital setting in a safe and controlled environment. The layout and configuration of the space allow for a realistic simulation of hospital environments and patient scenarios. Separated by privacy curtains, the space comprises seven patient bays that include patient beds, headwalls, medical accessories, and simulation manikins used to imitate patient vitals for student training.
