AltaGas Head Office transforms six floors of Calgary’s Manulife Place into a connected workplace for 550 employees. Designed around movement, daylight, and shared amenities, the renovation turns a complex elliptical floorplate into a cohesive environment that supports hybrid work, collaboration, and long-term growth.
Relocating to a new six-floor headquarters gave AltaGas an opportunity to rethink how its people work together. As the prime consultant and interior designer, our team validated program needs through workplace strategy analysis, then translated the findings into a planning framework for 110,200 sq. ft. across levels 10 to 15 of Manulife Place in Calgary’s downtown. Beyond translating the company’s values of safety, integrity, inclusion, and learning into a human-centred workplace, the central question was whether the curved tower floorplate could support AltaGas’ departments, hybrid work patterns, technology needs, and future growth without fragmenting the workplace by floor.
