Our design team facilitated a series of programming workshops to understand the needs and wants of the various functional groups within TransAlta. Beyond the design parameters established at an organizational level, this discovery process uncovered the nuanced requirements of each group at a detailed level.
The result is a diversity of space types coexisting, comprised of centralized hubs that interact with flexible collaboration space, meeting rooms, and dedicated workspace areas. The interaction between these spaces functions as a prominent design feature by creating purposeful activity nodes and complementary adjacencies. Our design intentionally buffers active spaces from the quieter zones with multi-functional transition areas such as open and closed meeting space.
