Exploring various non-workplace environments as inspiration, and with the desire to evoke a greater sense of community, and increase human interaction and collaboration, we developed an outdoor patio vision for the McCrum’s space. A backdrop of intimate niches and collaborative walls is centred around a gathering hub, encouraging spontaneous conversations. The layered integration of lighting, biophilia, culture and comfort emphasizes the importance of “our people’s” belonging and well-being.
Existing floor-to-ceiling windows and multiple skylights allow natural light to flood into the space, creating an indoor connection to nature. Integrating plants, a sense of warmth and variety in materials, along with careful attention to lighting, promotes a sense of well-being for “our people.”
