Completed in 1977 and designed by Zeidler with Bregman + Hamann, the Galleria Skylight Roof is the central component of the architectural vision of the CF Toronto Eaton Centre. Seemingly hovering above the bright, multi-level atrium it encloses, it creates a landmark ‘interior street’ that complements the city’s existing grid. The 900-foot-long Galleria and its distinctive allure has made the Centre a popular destination, drawing visitors from Toronto and beyond. Along with Flight Stop, Michael Snow’s well-known, site-specific art installation in the atrium’s southern end, the Galleria has become synonymous with the complex itself.
