James’s artistic talent and background in fine arts informs his approach. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture, it was a natural progression of James’ interests that led him to Architecture. James begins each project by doing what he feels is most important – listening to the needs of the client. It is this mentality, coupled with his focus on building and cultivating trusting working relationships, that allows him to consistently deliver complex, award-winning projects.

Over the course of his architectural career, James has worked on many high-profile performing art centres and post-secondary institutions. He is well-known not only for his design and technical skills, but also for his managerial and mentorship abilities. Dedicated to creating spaces that are inspiring, functional, and achievable, he consistently challenges his team to think critically about how design impacts communities and lives.
