Design Thinking: This two-storey commercial building designed and built in the early 1980’s blended into the community and did not stand out from its surroundings. Our client saw the building’s potential and wanted to capitalize on it. Our refurbished approach reveals the building and entrances clearly along with glass elevator. We adapted the original two-storey south entrance lobby to create new rentable space for the owner. The updated design reconfigures corridors and gives them a modern look with new ceilings, carpet flooring and new tenant entry doors with buildouts and signage.
Key Features: Zeidler helped realize the potential of the building by updating the exterior, interior, and landscaping. This included adding a new elevator enclosed on two sides by a glass tower at the south entrance, new north and south entrance canopies, and creating a landscaped seating area at the south entrance. One of the key design elements that helped create a modern feel was the new linear slimline LED light fixtures recessed into the ceilings and walls of the lobbies and public corridors.
