Design Thinking: Calgary City Centre, Phase 1 development is a commercial Class-A signature office tower located in downtown Calgary. The 928,000 square foot, 37-storey building provides Class-A office rental combined with retail and conference facility at the podium. Expanding on the development to a full city block built out, Phase 2 is under development to provide additional retail and office spaces, as well as a 5-star hotel.
Key Features: A shared vehicular drop off is proposed along 2 Ave to provide access to Phase 1 office and Phase 2 hotel. The hotel will be a hub of activities ranging from restaurant, conference centre as well as a sky bar and spa facility on the 23rd floor. The Phase 2 office lobby will be an extension of the linear public plaza located along Barclay Mall. In addition to the connection at grade, both phases will also be interconnected at the +15 level. The pedestrian walkway will not only become an extension of the +15 network, but it will also be serviced by additional retail and food tenant services. Along with the Phase 1 +15 bridges linking Livingston Place and Jamieson Place, an additional +15 bridge is planned to provide connection to Devon Tower to the west. To minimize the number of service entrance, a central internal servicing court will be provided to service both phases of the development.
