The existing Cosmetology department invited some of the surrounding senior
community for cosmetology services. In the redevelopment of the Cosmetology
department, we explored avenues to provide greater community presence for the
department, including direct community access, with a separate public facility
entrance and immediate senior-friendly parking areas.
We also explored enhancing the Automotive department program though integration into the community. We analyzed private models of Automotive shops, examining how these businesses interacted with the public through their service departments, part counters, etc. We identified the private/public interface methods that could be adapted to the Automotive facility operations.
