Zeidler Architecture in association with David Chipperfield Architects have been shortlisted to advance to the second stage of the two-stage competition.

The Department of Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) recently announced the six shortlisted teams, selected from a long-list of 12 competitors. Stage 1 involved submitting outline concept designs which will be advanced in Stage 2. The concepts were evaluated by a team of technical advisors and jury made up of design professionals, academics, and members of Parliament. Details about the 26 jury members can be found here.

Block 2 sits in front of and on axis with Canada’s historic Centre Block and Peace Tower. The redevelopment will complete the fourth wall of Parliament Square. It will be guided by the goals of design excellence, environmental and social sustainability, and expressing the living culture and heritage of Ottawa.
