Allan Gardens Palm House wins Architectural Conservancy Ontario Award for heritage excellence

First opened in 1910, the Palm House has long served as a sanctuary in the heart of Toronto, a place where generations have connected with nature, architecture, and community. The restoration reaffirms its role as a living civic landmark, ensuring it continues to inspire, educate, and welcome visitors for decades to come.

Led by Zeidler Architecture in close collaboration with Architects Rasch Eckler Associates Ltd (AREA), and the City of Toronto’s Parks, Forestry & Recreation Department, the project preserves the Palm House’s Edwardian character while enhancing its accessibility, environmental performance, and long-term resilience.

Fittingly, we celebrated the award where it all began; the Palm House hosted our annual client appreciation event on October 16, bringing together our team, clients, and community partners, the Friends of Allan Gardens. Sharing this moment in the very space we helped renew was a powerful reminder of its vitality as a civic place, filled with conversation, gratitude, and the same sense of community that has defined Allan Gardens for more than a century.
