What we are seeking
As a Senior Project Accountant, you are reporting directly into the Director of Finance and Accounting. The ideal candidate will have solid communication, technology and analytical skills, be detail-oriented and well-organized and be able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks. This individual must be able to successfully manage interpersonal relations and communicate clearly to effectively support architectural staff, specifically including Partners and Project Managers.
- Review and Approval of Employee Expense reports, reconciliation of corporate CCs processed, and invoices and delivery to the client issued by the Project Accountant
- Provide support and back up to the Director, Finance and Accounting for the processing of Mid-Month and Monthly EFT cycles
- Review balances of corporate credit cards to ensure optimal balances for cardholder use while maintaining positive cash flow
- Set up new projects in the ERP system
- Work with Project Managers to utilize tools within the ERP system to review and analyze project metrics effectively and efficiently
- Orientation and training of new employees on the use of the ERP system and Time and Expense compliance
- Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Assist the Director, Finance and Accounting with the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including but not limited to review and analysis of balance sheets, PL statements, forecasting, etc.
- Assist the Partnership, Chief Financial Officer and the Director, Finance and Accounting with Ad. Hoc
- As a member of our team, you are expected to actively adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures established by the company. You are responsible for identifying and reporting potential hazards, contributing to a safe working environment, and ensuring compliance with regulations. What you will bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or an Advanced Accounting Diploma
- Sufficiently conversant with the use of computer; skilled in performing mathematical processes; and an outstanding knowledge of utilizing accounting software, as well as other basics
- 5-10 years of experience in a Project Accounting role, with experience in an architectural/engineering or other professional services firm considered an asset
- Commendable skills in general bookkeeping procedures or principles
- Knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint or Deltek Ajera Software or other fully integrated project accounting platform, a plus
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast paced and constantly evolving environment
- Ability to work independently and with a team, take initiative, set tasks and see projects through to completion
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong team skills
- Consistent and highly organized
