Job Summary

As a young, creative, dynamic national firm with offices in Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver and Victoria, Zeidler is seeking a talented Architectural Designer in our Toronto office. This is a unique opportunity to join an exciting national firm focusing on great design. The Architectural Designer will help drive the graphic representation of the project, including the development of drawings, renderings and presentations. Our current portfolio includes local and national work in higher education, residential, mixed-use, commercial/retail and healthcare with a focus on sustainable design.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Work with design team to develop design ideas
  • Prepare and develop drawings, presentation sketches, models, renderings and other documents related to the design
  • Work with senior staff to develop programming and space planning, meeting all building code requirements
  • Collaborate with project managers through design process to achieve alignment with client requirements
  • Research and recommend appropriate finishes and furnishings
  • Support in the preparation of contract documents
  • Provide project administrative support

Qualifications and Skills

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture, architectural science or architectural technology
  • 3–10 years of experience
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience in a variety of building types including higher education, commercial, residential, institutional, retail, healthcare and/or hospitality
  • Strong conceptual and design skills
  • Experience producing construction documents
  • Knowledge of Ontario/Canadian Building Codes, building systems and technology
