Niagara Falls, Ontario
In Joint Venture with: B+H Architects
Client: Falls Management Company
Size: 1,230,000 sq.ft. (114,000 sq.m.)
The Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort is a mixed-use entertainment complex situated on 22 acres of the escarpment directly adjacent the American Falls and the Horseshoe Falls. It is the largest project ever built in Niagara and has dramatically increased the economy of the region. The project represents a new generation of entertainment facilities.
The arrival court with its porte cochère lead people to the glazed entry Dome—the arrival and distribution hub. From here, people can enter the casino; hotel lobby; the gallery of shops; the parking garage or the Galleria, a long, sky lit passage terminating in the fully-glazed, elliptical Rotunda with breathtaking views of the Horseshoe Falls. The Galleria also gives access to the foyer of the 1,500-seat theatre, more shops and three major restaurants. Escalators within the Rotunda lead down to a lower level which offers a choice of food venues with outdoor terraces that extend into the park-like setting of the escarpment. The 50,000 sf of exhibition hall and meeting rooms are also on this level along with the 12-coach bus station.
