Calgary City Centre Receives LEED Platinum Certification

Calgary City Centre has been certified LEED Platinum for Core and Shell Development, making this only the 7th commercial office/ mixed-use building in Canada to receive this level of certification!

The tower exemplifies sustainable design features such as high-performance glazing, intelligent lighting controls, and low-maintenance green surfaces covering 50% of the roof areas. Indoor Air Quality standards have also been achieved and the building uses 25-45% less energy relative to the National Energy Code for Buildings. Secure bicycle storage and shower facilities have been incorporated to promote a healthier commute and the building is located next to public transit routes, including the #3 North/South, one of Calgary’s major bus loops.

Calgary City Centre represents a high-level of commitment and confidence in the city’s future as a national and global business centre. This project’s design, street presence and first-class amenities demonstrate Calgary’s status as a premiere location for investment and epitomizes the positive evolution of Calgary’s downtown urban landscape.

Congratulations, Cadillac Fairview!

Calgary City Centre Official Opening

Today with our Calgary office Zeidler BKDI Architects, we celebrate the official opening of Cadillac Fairview's Calgary City Centre, a 36-storey, 835,000 sq.ft. office complex in the heart of downtown Calgary. The tower, which has been built to LEED Platinum standards, features a technically advanced conference centre, permanent public art pieces and is linked to the Plus 15 walkway via two bridge connections.

The opening marks the culmination of 15 years of planning and design, and has been recognized as an early success as the tower is 92% leased despite the current market downturn.

Our firm is currently developing Calgary City Centre Phase II which features an additional 500,000 sq.ft. of office space and an executive-class hotel. The site's master plan has been recently approved by City Council.
