We are very excited to announce that the Brampton Southwest Quadrant Renewal has won two Urban Design Awards for the categories of Best Central Area Project and an Award of Excellence for Healthy and Sustainable Building!
Located in downtown Brampton adjacent to City Hall, this project provides new civic and City administrative space. By finally linking City Hall to busy Queen Street, the building revitalizes the urban core and reinforces the historic downtown as the ‘heart’ of the City. Building features in- clude a landscaped forecourt to a dramatic lobby with rose-patterned walls, pedestrian bridge over George Street, and publically accessible meeting rooms and workplaces. The building’s glazed façades and multiple entrances connect interior and exterior civic life both visually and symbolically. The project upholds the idea that architecture can be a catalyst for urban renewal.
