Size: 1,000,000 sq.ft. (93,000 sq.m.)
Facing a man-made watercourse into the Persian Gulf shoreline, the Burj Dubai Residences I builds upon the prior master planning by Zeidler Partnership Architects of an ambitious new community envisioned south-west of Dubai’s traditional city center.
Comprised of six residential towers with podium townhouses, the residences accommodate a total of approximately 740 luxury housing units. The towers rise between 23 and 40 storeys to take advantage of views toward the watercourse and central Dubai. The majority of tower units are planned with either a balcony or terrace to take advantage of these magnificent views.
The townhouse units are typically feature two storeys and, where facing the water, are designed as stacked units with entrances either directly from the promenade or from the landscaped carpark podium. All towers are clad in a palette of buff-coloured precast concrete of varying textures, metal paneling and a green-tinted glass/aluminum window wall system. As a counterpoint and vernacular allusion, patterned fritted glass and latticework mullions accentuate the bay windows.
